County property record are a wonderful source of data for family history researchers.   Illinois Counties, with the exception of Cook, are organized alphabetically and chronologically. Cook County property records are kept in a“Torrens” form. 2020 is the 400th Anniversary of the Pilgrims landing in Plymouth Massachusetts.  EGS member Janet Burkart will be take us on her journey to discover her family’s connection to the Mayflower and joining the Mayflower Society. Janet Burkart is a long-time member of Elgin Genealogical Society.  She is a member of the Mayflower Society and a member of the National Society Daughter of the American Revolution. Ola Heska will be presenting “Polish Research – using Metryki and Geneteka databases”.   Ms. Heska will demonstrate a step-by-step instruction how to use the largest Polish genealogical databases. Geneteka contains over 28 million indexed records from various regions of Poland, created by volunteers and administered by the Polish Genealogical Society.
