Mining for Memories
November 3 @ 9:30 am - 12:00 pm
Laura Kovarik will be presenting “Mining for Memories”. Let’s rethink how the genealogy interview is conducted. Names and dates are an important part of genealogical research. However, to create context for our ancestors, we need more than just names and dates. Interviewing family members allows genealogists to create a rich, detailed portrait of relatives that cannot be found in documents or online databases. This program is aimed at presenting ideas to expand the interview process and access those memories that can add those details to our ancestors’ lives.
Laura Kovarik has been involved in genealogy for more than 20 years and has been very active with her local society. She is Past President of Illinois State Genealogical Society and a member of Association of Professional Genealogists.
