Grave Dousing

Grave Dousing by EGS member Jim Weirman.  Jim will present the art of grave dousing and how he has used it to find family headstones. Member will have a chance to give it a try!

Jim Weirman has been interested in family history all his life and has actively researched his ancestral family lines for more than 60 years. He grew up on a farm in central Illinois, on land that had been in his family for five generations. After graduation from Illinois Wesleyan University, he moved to the Maryland suburbs of Washington, D.C., where he had a career in the aerospace industry. As a resident of Maryland for 40 years, he spent many Saturdays doing research at the National Archives and Library of Congress and reading the 18th and 17th century German script of microfilmed Lutheran and Reformed parish registers.  He also researched is wife’s family lines and has done research for other family members.
